- I am a writer and a teacher. I began writing when I stayed at home taking care of my son, Ethan. So Big is my first children's book. I got the idea for it when my son asked, "How'd I get so big?” taking everything I said literally. One of the things I love about writing is that it is a great way to preserve precious moments like this. Along with writing, another passion of mine is teaching. I just completed my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Sam Houston State University. I am very excited about my success in school, my new career as a teacher, and especially the launch of my first book, So Big. Along with Ethan, I have 2 beautiful daughters, Carleigh and Molly, and husband, Andy. We also have a basset hound named Huckleberry. We live near Houston, TX.
